Gulf Games 8: Comments

Nashville, Tennessee
August 2 – 5, 2001

I wanted to thank everyone for making our second Gulf Games another wonderful time. I’d like to take a second to give a special thanks to all of the people who do the “grunt work” for Gulf Games. Your hard work does not go unnoticed. Jennifer and I both had a great time playing games, seeing old friends from Chattanooga, and making new ones too. I’ve got a nice list of new games to add to my collection. We hope to be able to make it to GG9, but if not we hope to see you all at GG10 for sure!

Ugh, I can barely stand to read these posts about the good time had by all. I guess I can add Gulf Games, to my “do you know what I have sacrificed for you” speech, when the baby is born and old enough to listen.

Just wanted to say thanks to everyone for making Gulf Games enjoyable – this was my first one, and the friendly atmosphere made me feel very welcome indeed!

Two days later and I still feel exhausted — but it’s a GOOD kind of exhausted.

I would like to add my thanks to those already expressed for all the people who work so hard to make Gulf Games such a special treat. You are giving a marvelous gift to us, and it is greatly appreciated.

I had a wonderful time meeting up again with the people I’ve met at past Gulf Games. It gets more comfortable and more hilarious every time. Getting to know so many terrific new folks was a great pleasure as well. While we missed Ben and Marcia, Jason and Vonda, and many another fine fellow funster, we went ahead and had a swell time anyway and only hope those missing from action can join us next time for more of the same.

Gulf Games is one of the big highlights in my life now; I can’t wait until the next one. Thanks so much for putting together such a fine time. It’s brought together an incredibly nice group of people. Everyone in our van riding home was recounting their adventures and talking about the new friends they’d made. Now, if we could just remain as polite and on our best behavior at our regular games night! :o)

We want need to make sure to say thanks to all who made Gulf Games such a wonderful experience. Those who spent hours of time organizing and helping it run smoothly, those who brought games we otherwise would never have seen, and those who played so competitively and fairly the entire weekend, not to mention the many others who played a part in making this a wonderful experience for us.

More thanks are due I am sure, but if I start specifically naming folks I’m sure I’ll forget somebody, so I’ll issue a blanket HUGE thank you and hope I didn’t miss anyone this way.

We had a wonderful time, and look forward to being able to attend future Gulf Games.
