Gulf Games 8: Jay Jones

Nashville, Tennessee
August 2 – 5, 2001

Just adding my voice to the crowd of happy Gulf Gamers.

I had a wonderful time. Thanks to everyone that made this such a special weekend. I am sure that I would not do justice for all the folks that made this such a wonderful weekend. However, like others honorable mentions to Vicki for keeping us well stocked, and Greg for hosting such a wonderful 4day weekend.

As with my first Gulf Games (#6) the 4am game of Code 777 (wouldn’t you know I would love an out of print game) is still my favorite. I agree with Ken,an 18 and under midnight Code 777 tournament would be a sight to see.

Kudos to Larry for winning Take it Easy. He had tough competition at our table beating multiple scores in the 190’s.

The games I really enjoyed: Evo, Wyatt Erp, Bohnanza, The Wall Street Game (wouldn’t you know I would love an out of print game). Getting lynched in Werewolf for saying ” bushy tailed” had to be my finest moment.

The 4+ hour game of Traders of Genoa was too much. (Next time I will stick with my rule of not playing negotiation games with Ken.)

I fully enjoyed talking shop with Jim and Jack.

Until next Gulf Games, stay bright eyed and busy tailed!
