This Gulf Games more than any other has made me realize that all of my best friends are not living near me.
I appreciate all of you and feel like I am home and with true friends when I am at with you all.

Playing games is not the main reason for Gulf Games, has many of us have heard Greg himself so often remind us. Gaming (since we are all addicts!) is the centerpiece, if you will, that serves as the vehicle that brings us all together, for the fellowship, and the fun of it. And how wonderful an experience this has been indeed!
TY DOUDS
Finally, I have to once again acknowledge the friendship and camaraderie exuded by everyone present. Gulf Games isn’t just about playing great games with skilled and enthusiastic opponents—it’s about laughter and smack talk and silliness and sharing these experiences with good, loving people. May this phenomenon of gaming continue until we are all old and gray and may it never lose its special family quality.

Now that I’ve been home for a while, I marvel all the more at the wonderful opportunity afforded me last week, to meet and game with a crew such as yourselves. I was honored to have even been invited; now that I’ve been to Gulf Games, I am humbled all the more to have been included, sight unseen, in this event that obviously means so much to so many of you- and for good reason.

As a first time Gulf Gamer, I was a little in awe of the surroundings. I have been to Origins, the World Boardgaming Championships (formerly Avaloncon), and a few regional cons, so I have seen gamers and BIG conventions before. What I had never seen was a convention of “one big family” like I saw in Pensacola.

Well, that was such an incredibly fun time, I’ve been speechless up ’til now. Thanks to all for welcoming Jessie as the youngest member, and a special thanks to Lenny for her windchimes. We all had a really great vacation. The location was beautiful, the hotel great, and of course the company and game-playing were wonderful as always!
Can’t wait until Gulf Games 10!

Wow! Another fantastic experience! Once again we had a terrific time. Thanks again to everyone who made it possible. The location was excellent and as always, the new and renewed friendships were the highlight of the trip. Leaving on Sunday is always a difficult thing for us, and each year it seems to get a little harder.
