I just wanted to say thanks to everyone for making Gulf Games11 such a wonderful experience. It has been said before but it bears repeating, the people are what make Gulf Games truly special. I was a little apprehensive about going by myself this time, having only been to Gulf Games 6 before, but I needn’t have been. As soon as I walked in the door I was overwhelmed by the friendship and camaraderie that greeted me! People I had met last time all remembered me (or seemed to – maybe it was that name badge) and the people I met for the first time were great as well.I want to say a special thanks to Michael and Julie Weston who were not only great people but also carted me around to get food, which was needed with all the heavy thinking I was doing<G>.
I don’t have the discipline to keep a log of what games I played and who I played them with, so I will just say that I enjoyed each and every game and enjoyed playing with all of you. The highlight of the weekend was probably the La Citta game I played with Michael and Julie Weston and Thor and Sarah Samuelson (thanks for the great time – it really flew by). but I had so many other great experiences too. Thanks again to everyone!!
Extra special thanks to those who organized and decorated everything and kept the snack area so well stocked. I know that has to be a challenge.
I don’t know at this point if I will make it to Williamsburg, but I hope to and I hope to see you all soon!
