Gulf Games 13: Susan Rozmiarek

Pensacola Beach, Florida
February 19 – 22, 2004

Well, it’s been a busy week of catching up and trying to get back into the swing of things after being spoiled by a few days of paradise. I’ve finally gotten a report written up: Susan’s report (this link will take you off the Gulf Games site)

I just want to add here, though, Ed’s and my thanks and deep appreciation for the hard work and effort put into this event. You guys have outdone yourselves again, despite the “unlucky 13” mishaps (as told to me by Vickie) and just keep setting the bar higher!

A few random things:

Hearing that the Nintendo had been left behind threw me into a slight panic. It turned out to be a blessing in disguise. My kids played more “real” games than ever and had a great time outside without those dratted video games always luring them in. At least until Gail brought one, but by then they needed to take a break and rest. Just don’t forget it again, okay? 😉

The tiki hut bazaar was a great idea, allowing everyone to share in the goodies. Whoever brought the Lindt chocolates, thank you, thank you!

The pins and the patches are great keepsakes. I didn’t really take a good look at them until I was unpacking this past week. Thank you James and Joe!

Once again, the Roads and Boats game didn’t happen, darn it. We’ll try for Gatlinburg if anyone is still interested.

Who bribed Mother Nature for that fabulous weather and please assure me that no small animals were sacrificed. Seriously, could it have been better? Can we come to Pensacola again?

I can’t believe how soft those t-shirts are and the logo is great. Great job, Tim and Vickie!

Anyway, thanks to ALL of you for making Gulf Games the special event it is. I hope to see y’all in Gatlinburg.
